This is my howdy do! I am Laurie Vines. Since I was in my 20’s I wanted to go into filmmaking. Though I had the opportunity to intern at a local film studio in my 20’s, I tabled that dream until I was in my mid- 40’s! Since then, I have produced many projects. I somehow thought it would be MUCH easier to do!
My encouragement to you whether you are a seasoned filmmaker or as green as I was, is this— don’t quit!
An amazing gaffer once told me, “If it was easy, everyone would do it.” And, he is right! When I get frustrated, feel less than, and doubt myself, I remember that filmmaking is meant to be a journey. I can enjoy it! It’s not always about the audience or the finished product, but about the journey and growing in the craft and as a person.
But, please do finish the project! Everyone is rooting for you and for that!
